Dr. Aina is a board-certified psychiatrist and sleep medicine specialist
Dr. Aina is a board-certified psychiatrist and sleep medicine specialist who sees patients at both our Sherman and Frisco locations.
He founded Tri-MED Integrative Psychiatry and Sleep Medicine after several years of treating psychiatric and sleep disorders in England and the United States, because he wanted to create a warm, welcoming and non-judgemental space, where caring professionals would prioritize treating the whole person and helping them achieve overall wellness, instead of merely medicating their symptoms.
Dr. Aina listens attentively to patients’ histories, in order to identify the root cause of their struggles and develop a personalized treatment strategy to help them find relief.
He treats all types of psychiatric and sleep disorders, including depression, anxiety disorder, ADHD, bi-polar disorder, brain fog, OCD, PTSD, personality disorders, addiction, memory loss, sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and restless legs syndrome.
He also does psychiatric assessments for patients seeking bariatric surgery
Family Medicine and Psychiatry Residency
Having completed residencies in family medicine and psychiatry, as well as a fellowship program in sleep medicine, Dr. Aina understands how different conditions can be connected, and believes in utilizing a holistic approach to achieve wellness.
He encourages patients to consider a variety of integrative treatment protocols which may include nutrition, hormone treatments, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), nutrition therapy, medication management, Spravato, IM and IV ketamine treatment, amino acid infusions, nutritional supplements, counseling, and spirituality. When possible, Dr. Aina’s ultimate goal is to help patients reach maximal health, without over-reliance on medicine.
Experience
Since graduating from medical school in 1994, Dr. Aina has worked in various in-patient and outpatient settings, including helping to meet the mental health needs of service men and women at the military base in Fort Hood, Texas. He is currently the medical director at TMC Behavioral Health Center, a psychiatric hospital located in Sherman, TX.
Dr. Aina is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as the American Board of Sleep Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and American Society of Ketamine Physicians.
When not helping patients reclaim their health or mentoring resident physicians and students, Dr. Aina enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, traveling and fencing.
